Amber made me do it!

I haven't posted to Live Journal in a long, long time! Amber, you're amazing! :-)

a. list seven habits/quirks/facts about yourself
b. tag seven people to do the same
c. do not tag the person who tagged you or say that you tag "whoever wants to do it"

1. I have two crooked pinkies that are apparently hereditary (my uncle has them too).

2. I got to sit in a private box at Carnegie Hall while seeing my friend play with the Ft. Worth Philharmonic.

3. I hate all hot cereals or anything that resembles them (oatmeal, grits, cream of wheat, rice pudding, etc.)

4. I turned 21 on my honeymoon.

5. I milked a goat while visitng Holy Myrrhbearers Monastery.

6. I love to play ping-pong.

7. I met and had lunch with Metropolitan Joseph of the Bulgarian Archdiocese of America.

I'm not following rule "B" because I think have less than 7 Live Journal friends ;-)

My sister, the author

My sister, Elaine Shepherd, wrote a book with a friend of hers called Million Dollar Mom. The book gives practical advice to moms who think there's no way they could afford to stay at home with their kids. She's had a small amount of success getting the book into stores, but she's recently had a major breakthrough. The book is now listed on Dr. Laura's website at http://www.drlaura.com/reading/. It's so neat to see her book and name out there!

Coffee Question

Friends,
Do any of you use a French press to make coffee? If so, what is the best way to clean out the glass carafe each time you use it? I've found that it's somewhat of a pain to try and get out all of the grounds/sludge at the bottom. Thanks!
